Building Opportunity Across Eastern North Carolina
The Community Opportunity Center exists to help individuals and families build practical skills for lasting stability. Through hands-on training, workforce readiness, and creative spaces like our Digital Lab and Culinary Arts program, we walk with people as they learn, grow, and move toward brighter futures.
Digital Lab
A hands-on learning space where participants build practical computer, smartphone, and everyday tech skills — from resume building to Excel — and earn a Northstar Digital Literacy Certification.
Workforce Development
Personalized support that equips participants with the skills and tools to secure meaningful employment and grow into sustainable, long-term career paths.
Culinary Arts
Hands-on training in cooking, food safety, and food service that opens doors to careers in hospitality — earning a Certified Kitchen Cook and Food Handler Certificate.

Who Can Come to the Community Opportunity Center?
Everyone is welcome at ADLA's Community Opportunity Center. We serve adults, families, and individuals across Eastern North Carolina who are ready to build new skills — whether that's job readiness, digital literacy, financial stability, or a culinary certification. Whether you're taking your first step toward a new career or continuing on a path toward stability, we provide a supportive, judgment-free space to help you succeed.
