The overall mission of ADLA, Inc. is to help individuals acquire the needed behavior and employability skills to function in a changing global society, and promote the understanding and practice of the universal values of honesty, integrity, and respect.

Founding of ADLA, Inc.
Established by Danny King, serving Eastern North Carolina with a lot of direction, love, and affection.
HIV Outreach Grant
Office of Minority Health grant to reduce HIV risk behaviors and improve testing, education, and linkage to care.
Employment Readiness Program
Hosted at Southern Academy Alternative School to equip students with workplace skills and hands-on experience.
Wayne County Structured Day Program
Sponsored by the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council for at-risk and court-involved youth in Goldsboro, NC.
Culinary Arts Training
Launched at the Carver Cultural Center with funding from NC DPI, NC Governor's Crime Commission, and the NC Rural Center.
USDA Partnership: Soup Kitchen
Partnered with the USDA to launch the Soup Kitchen and Child Nutrition Summer Feeding Programs across Eastern NC.
NC SES Tutoring & 21st CCLC
Math and reading tutoring across 17 counties at Title I schools, later expanding to 21st CCLC after-school programs.
ADLA Eats Food Pantry
Launched Food Pantry, TEFAP, and Mobile Feeding with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC and the USDA.
COVID-19 Relief
Relief to 12,777 households across 14 counties — food boxes, PPE, rent/utility assistance, and Community Health Workers.
NC Healthy Opportunities Pilot
Served over 600 families weekly and made more than 30,000 total deliveries — addressing housing, food, transportation, and safety across 5 counties through this Medicaid-funded evidence-based program.
Community Opportunity Center
ADLA's newest initiative — adult classes and certifications in Digital Literacy, Workforce Development, Culinary Arts, and more.
